This half-length, 32-bit PCI adapter enables easy console redirection with text and graphics, keyboard and mouse (OS independent- Operating system must support USB) support over the system management LAN connections. With video compression now built into the adapter hardware, it is designed to redirect graphics up to five times faster than its IBM predecessor. Now, text console redirect over Remote Supervisor Adapter II serial port is also supported. It enables display of server activities from power on to full operation remotely, and allows remote user interaction at virtually any time. It provides remote control via any standard Web browser. No additional software is required on the remote administrator's workstation. System management software is not required on the managed server for remote control. The Remote Supervisor Adapter II provides remote management and control of the system independent of the server status, even if the server is powered off or otherwise disabled.
