Compatible operating systems: IBM iSeries AS/400 IBM zSeries System/390, Interface: PCI 32-bitLexmark's Coax/Twinax Adapter for SCS -- an affordable solution for printing from IBM mainframe, IBM iSeries, AS/400 applications, and SNA-distributed networks. With this option installed, the printer will emulate an IBM host-workstation printer and print from applications running on an IBM iSeries, AS/400, IBM zSeries, or System/390 computer. The Coax/Twinax Adapter for SCS is a 32-bit PCI-based option that is installed in a slot in the printer. The Coax/Twinax Adapter for SCS provides the SNA Character String (SCS) data stream and either a twinaxial or coaxial connection. For the coax attachment, DSC/DSE data streams are also supported. The Coax/Twinax Adapter for SCS automatically detects the type of cable - either coax or twinax - that is being used to connect the printer to its IBM host. What's more, if the printer is connected to a network, Lexmark's SmartSwitch auto-emulation sensing technology will automatically switch the printer to the right language for each incoming document. - Supports emulations of common IBM printers. - Supports FFT/DCA and SCS data streams for twinax attachments. - Supports SCS and DSC/DSE data streams for coax attachments.
